Dhaka, the capital and largest city of Bangladesh. It is also the capital of Dhaka and the national political, economic and cultural center. Dhaka has a long history. Founded in the 15th century, it was a commercial and academic center in the early 20th century. In 1947, it became the capital of East Bengal Province. Dhaka has developed transportation and is a national railway, highway and inland river shipping hub. It has air links with places such as Chittagong in China and abroad.

The pink palace of Ahsan Manzil was a private residence rebuilt by Nawab Abdul Ghani, a landlord, on the basis of the warehouses left by the French in 1872. The Bangladesh National Museum is located next to Dhaka University and on Shahbag Road.
