Freiburg Cathedral was originally built as the mausoleum of Duke Z ä hringen and is now known as the "most beautiful Christian church". It is the pride of Freiburg people and even the whole Bavaria. The top of the church tower is an excellent viewing platform overlooking the Black Forest, and the big clock is also worth seeing. The square in front of the church always has a lively flower, vegetable and fruit market in the morning, which is very popular with the local people.
