Walvis Bay, also known as Walvis Port, is the second largest city in Namibia, with an area of 1124 square kilometers and a population of 65000. Whale Bay Port is located in the central and western part of Namibia, close to the Whale Bay in the Atlantic Ocean, and is a natural harbor. It mainly exports lead, zinc, copper and other concentrates from Chumeibu.

On the Atlantic coast 48 kilometers south of Whale Bay, there is a spectacular sand dune deep into the seaside lagoon and the original beach, which forms a unique scenic spot. This is Sandwich Harbor. In the 19th century, it was once a deep-water port for sailing ships, and it was also an important wetland. At the same time, it is also a breeding reserve for birds and marine organisms, where more than 180000 birds of all kinds live, most of which are migrant birds wading in the water. It is one of the largest sand dunes in the world, and also a part of the Namib Nakuluft National Park, the world cultural heritage, facing the sea to the west. The 100m high sand dunes meet the blue Atlantic here, forming a huge contrast and a unique landscape. Few people come here, but this is the real Isolation Namibia, a lonely Namibia.

The salt field in the suburb of Whale Bay covers an area of more than 3500 hectares. It is artificially divided into huge pink salt pans. Industrial salt is extracted by evaporating seawater under the sun. More than 95% of South Africa's industrial salt is produced and transported from here. In the light of the morning and noon every day, if it happens to be windless, the pink salt farm will show the effect of the sky, reflecting the sky and clouds, which is very suitable for photography.

There are many catamarans docked at the seagoing dock of Whale Bay. The Atlantic sea is very calm here. Occasionally, flamingos and several pelicans live in the water. There are circling seagulls in the air. Travelers who take part in the seagoing tour get on the catamaran yacht through the jetty of the dock. There are many cafes, restaurants and handicraft shops on the wharf, which is an ideal place for dining and strolling.
