The Silk Road Dialogue Committee were invited to attend the 17th Annual Meeting of the China-Malaysia Joint Business Council
On July 18, the 17th Annual Meeting of the China-Malaysia Joint Business Council was held in Beijing during the 3rd China International Supply Chain Expo. Ren Hongbin, Chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and Low Kian chuan, Chairman of the Malaysia-China Business Council, attended and delivered speeches. The Silk Road Dialogue Committee, as well as Red Silk Road Technology Co., Ltd.–a member unit of the Silk Road Dialogue Committee were invited to participate in this meeting.

Ren Hongbin stated that in recent years, the scale of China-Malaysia economic and trade cooperation has grown rapidly, with continuously expanding fields and steadily improving quality. The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade has maintained long-term friendly cooperation with the Malaysian business community, and together they have established multiple cooperation mechanisms such as the bilateral business council. In the future, it is willing to continue working hand in hand with the Malaysian business community to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and jointly promote enterprises from both sides to carry out mutually beneficial cooperation on a larger scale, at a deeper level, and with higher standards.

Low Kian chuan stated that against the backdrop of the complex global economic situation and the rise of protectionism, China-Malaysia cooperation has become even more significant. In recent years, the two sides have achieved fruitful cooperation results, which have not only promoted Malaysia's industrial upgrading but also created a large number of jobs. Malaysia welcomes Chinese enterprises to participate in key projects such as the East Coast Rail Link and the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone, and to jointly build a more resilient and sustainable regional supply chain.

At the meeting, representatives from the business communities of China and Malaysia conducted in-depth exchanges on issues such as deepening bilateral economic and trade relations and reached extensive consensus. During the meeting, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Malaysia-China Business Council renewed their cooperation memorandum to further deepen cooperation. After the meeting, enterprises from both sides held exchanges and discussions. This meeting was co-hosted by the China Chamber of International Commerce and the Malaysia-China Business Council.

During the exchanges, representatives from the Silk Road Dialogue Committee presented calligraphy works to Dato Abdul Majid Ahmad Khan, President of the Malaysia-China Friendship Association and former Malaysian Ambassador to China, as well as gifts such as Red Silk Road Sichuan Spicy Chili Paste and organic sweet and sour jujubes – star products of Red Silk Road Technology Co., Ltd., a member unit of the Silk Road Dialogue Committee.
During the meeting, the participating representatives had a friendly exchange with Dato Abdul Majid Ahmad Khan, President of the Malaysia-China Friendship Association and former Malaysian Ambassador to China. The two sides exchanged views on topics such as cultural tourism, digital technology, green ecology, product trade, and enterprise exchange mechanisms. They also shared their respective insights and ideas on how to further promote sub-national cooperation, cultural interaction, and industrial linkage between China and Malaysia under the framework of the "Belt and Road".

The successful convening of this meeting demonstrates the high mutual trust, spirit of openness and inclusiveness between China and Malaysia under the framework of multilateral cooperation. In the future, the Silk Road Dialogue Committee will continue to leverage its platform advantages in "non-governmental diplomacy, cultural linkage and industrial connectivity", and constantly deepen practical cooperation with ASEAN countries in such fields as cultural exchanges, tourism cooperation, product trade and industrial chain connection, so as to contribute to building a closer China-Malaysia community with a shared future and achieve mutually beneficial and win-win development.
