Delegation from the Beijing Liaison Office of Urumqi Municipal People’s Government Visits the ANSO Alliance of National and International Innovative Enterprises for the Belt and Road Regions and Silk Road Dialogue Committee

To deepen regional coordinated development and promote the integration of science and technology investment with cultural exchange, Liu Hongjiang, Director of the Beijing Liaison Office of the Urumqi Municipal People’s Government, Han Feng from the Business Division, and Li Bo, Party Secretary of the Tianshan District Investment Promotion Bureau of Urumqi, recently visited the ANSO Alliance of National and International Innovative Enterprises for the Belt and Road Regions and Silk Road Dialogue Committee. Cui Yiting, Vice Chair and Secretary-General of the Alliance、Founder of the Silk Road Dialogue, along with secretariat staff, held in-depth discussions with the delegation. The two sides engaged in comprehensive exchanges on topics including smart city construction, investment promotion, exhibition cooperation, and urban brand promotion.

Director Liu Hongjiang pointed out that Xinjiang, located in the heart of the Eurasian continent, is a crucial hub in the core area of the Belt and Road Initiative, with unique geographical advantages and strategic significance. As a major national energy exporter, Xinjiang is rich in key resources—known as the “two blacks and one white” (oil, coal, and cotton)—as well as abundant wind and electric energy for clean power development. It also possesses a wide range of mineral resources with significant reserves. Furthermore, Xinjiang features unique agricultural products such as tomato paste and traditional Chinese medicinal herbs, offering great potential for developing a botanical healing-based traditional Chinese medicine industry. He noted that the Urumqi Liaison Office in Beijing is accelerating its transformation from communication coordination to investment promotion, and he hopes to collaborate with the Alliance to facilitate the introduction of more high-quality enterprises and projects to Xinjiang.

Mr. Han Feng introduced key projects in Urumqi, including the immersive cultural performance The Kunlun Encounter and the development of the Ula Bopu Ancient City Ruins. The two sides engaged in discussions on technological innovation and urban development, conducting in-depth exchanges around themes such as “Technology and the City” and “Intelligence and Well-being.” He extended a warm invitation to people from all walks of life to visit Xinjiang, learn about Xinjiang, and fall in love with Xinjiang.

Party Secretary Li Bo introduced that Xinjiang is accelerating investment promotion and urban renewal, with a strong focus on attracting science and technology enterprises in fields such as smart cities, healthcare, and green and low-carbon development. He expressed hope that more enterprises will join forces to explore diversified project matchmaking and cooperation mechanisms, promoting coordinated development across the entire industrial chain. By leveraging enterprise resources, the plan is to build the "Silk Road International Micro-Museum" at the International Grand Bazaar, using science and technology exhibitions as a foundation to integrate international communication and cultural exchange, creating an open cooperation platform with distinctive Xinjiang characteristics.

Ms. Cui Yiting extended a warm welcome to the Urumqi delegation. She stated that since its establishment, the Alliance has been committed to its mission of “Empowering with Science and Technology, Leading with Happiness,” promoting scientific and technological exchange, industrial cooperation, and people-to-people connectivity along the Belt and Road. Xinjiang, as a key national strategic region, possesses unique resource advantages and strong potential for openness. The Alliance will leverage the Smart City Technology Governance Strategic Consulting Project to focus on topics such as urban resilience and green technology through resource matchmaking and exchange, exploring the practical application of cutting-edge technologies in western regions. At the same time, the Alliance looks forward to jointly launching event brands with Xinjiang, such as the “Silk Road International Happiness Week,” to promote regional scientific achievements and innovate international cooperation mechanisms. She emphasized that going forward, the Alliance will take practical projects as a driving force to build a sustainable and actionable cooperation model, working hand in hand to create a model of an “International City of Happiness” and to contribute to building a beautiful Xinjiang.

This exchange aims to inject new momentum into Xinjiang’s high-quality development and the joint promotion of new quality productive forces with the enterprise alliance. Both sides will take this dialogue as a new starting point to jointly advance more concrete cooperation and actions, and to write a new chapter in the development of the Belt and Road Initiative.
