President Xi Jinping pointed out that President Putin's state visit to China this time is his first visit since starting a new presidential term, fully reflecting the high importance that President Putin himself and the Russian side attach to the development of China Russia relations. I warmly welcome President Putin's visit. Just now, I had a frank and friendly meeting with President Putin, which was rich in content. We comprehensively summarized the successful experience of the development of bilateral relations since the establishment of diplomatic relations 75 years ago, exchanged in-depth views on bilateral relations and major international and regional issues of common concern, and made plans and deployments for the development of bilateral relations and cooperation in various fields in the next stage. We also jointly signed and issued the Joint Statement of the People's Republic of China and the Russian Federation on Deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in the New Era on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, witnessing the signing of multiple important cooperation documents between the two governments and departments, injecting new strong impetus into the healthy development of the China Russia relationship.
President Xi Jinping emphasized that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia. Over the course of three quarters of a century, the relationship between China and Russia has gone through ups and downs and has remained steadfast. Especially since the new era, the positioning of bilateral relations has continued to improve, the connotation of cooperation has become increasingly rich, and the concept of generational friendship has deeply rooted in people's hearts. China Russia relations have become a model of new international relations and neighboring great power relations. The reason why China Russia relations have achieved these remarkable achievements is due to both sides always adhering to the "Five Adherences".
One is to adhere to mutual respect as the fundamental principle and always support each other on issues of core interests. I agree with President Putin that the key to China and Russia's ability to embark on a new path of developing relations as major powers and neighbors lies in mutual respect and equal treatment, and steadfast support for each other on issues related to their core interests and major concerns. This is also the core essence of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Russia in the new era. Both sides will continue to uphold the principles of "non alignment, non confrontation, and no targeting of third parties", continuously deepen political mutual trust, respect the development paths they have chosen, and achieve their respective development and revitalization through mutual firm support.
The second is to adhere to cooperation and win-win as the driving force, and build a new pattern of mutual benefit between China and Russia. Last year, the bilateral trade volume between China and Russia exceeded 240 billion US dollars, an increase of nearly 1.7 times from 10 years ago. This is a microcosm of the continuous deepening of all-round mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Russia. I agree with President Putin that we should actively seek convergence of interests between the two countries, leverage our respective strengths, deepen the integration of interests, and achieve mutual achievements. We need to further optimize the cooperation structure, consolidate the good momentum of cooperation in traditional fields such as economy and trade, support the establishment of basic scientific research platform networks, continuously unleash the potential of cooperation in cutting-edge fields, strengthen cooperation in ports and transportation logistics, and maintain the stability of global industrial and supply chains.
Third, we should stick to the principle of friendship from generation to generation and jointly pass the torch of China Russia friendship. Both China and Russia have a long history and splendid culture. The works of Pushkin and Tolstoy are well-known in China, and traditional Chinese cultures such as Peking Opera and Tai Chi are also deeply loved by the Russian people. Currently, both sides are focusing on implementing the "Road Map for China Russia Cultural Cooperation before 2030" and continuously expanding cooperation in the field of humanities. I, together with President Putin, have designated this year and the next two years as the "China Russia Cultural Year", proposing that both sides hold a series of cultural exchange activities that are down-to-earth, connect with the people, and have popularity. We encourage all sectors of society and local areas of the two countries to strengthen exchanges and better promote mutual understanding and close relationships between the people.
The fourth is to adhere to strategic collaboration as the support and lead the correct direction of global governance. Both sides firmly uphold the international system with the United Nations at its core and the international order based on international law, closely coordinate and cooperate on multilateral platforms such as the United Nations, APEC, and G20, and promote world multipolarity and economic globalization with true multilateralism. This year, Russia serves as the rotating presidency of the BRICS countries, and China will take over as the rotating presidency of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization within the year. The two sides will support each other's presidency work, build a more comprehensive, close, pragmatic, and inclusive high-quality partnership, and unite to strengthen the "global south".
The fifth is to adhere to the principle of fairness and justice, and strive to promote political solutions to hot issues. In today's world, the Cold War mentality is lingering, with unilateral hegemony, factional confrontation, and power politics threatening world peace and the security of all countries. I agree with President Putin that resolving the Palestinian Israeli conflict is urgent. To effectively implement United Nations resolutions and solve the Palestinian issue based on the "two-state solution". Both sides unanimously believe that a political solution to the Ukrainian crisis is the right direction. China's position on this issue has been consistent and clear, including adhering to the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter, respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries, respecting the reasonable security concerns of all parties, and building a balanced, effective, and sustainable new security architecture. China looks forward to the early restoration of peace and stability on the European continent and is willing to continue to play a constructive role in this regard.
President Xi Jinping pointed out that the accumulation of soil becomes mountains, and the accumulation of water becomes the sea. After 75 years of solid accumulation, generations of friendship and all-round cooperation between China and Russia have converged into a strong driving force for both sides to move forward without fear of wind and rain. Standing at a new historical starting point, China and Russia will always adhere to their original aspirations, work together to shoulder responsibilities, bring more benefits to the people of both countries, and make due contributions to world security and stability.

President Vladimir Putin stated that he made a state visit to Russia shortly after President Xi Jinping's re-election last year. After my current re-election, I will make China my first visiting country, once again demonstrating the special and high-level nature of Russia China relations, as well as the high importance that both sides attach to further deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and China 75 years ago, the relationship between the two countries has developed into a model of partnership between major powers and neighboring countries. The cooperation between the two countries is rich in content and fruitful in results. I have maintained close communication and a good relationship with President Xi Jinping . Both sides are satisfied with the current status of Russia China relations and have full confidence in future cooperation. Russia regards China as a long-term and reliable partner and is willing to continue expanding cooperation with China in areas such as politics, economy, culture, education, and security, to host the "Russo China Cultural Year" and deepen cultural exchanges. Russia and China maintain close cooperation on the international stage, jointly committed to promoting the establishment of a more democratic and multipolar world order. They are willing to continue to strengthen cooperation within frameworks such as the BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, as well as communication on major international and regional issues, to promote regional and world peace and development.
