On the eve of the 2024-2025 Russo Chinese Cultural Year, the theme sharing event for the musical "Anna Karenina" adapted from Leo Tolstoy's eponymous masterpiece was held on December 28 at the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing.
The New Silk Road Promotion Association and the Silk Road Dialogue Committee were invited to participate by the Beijing Russian Cultural Center. This sharing event has attracted the participation of many musical enthusiasts and industry insiders, providing an opportunity for everyone to deeply understand this classic musical, and also building an important platform for cultural exchange between China and the West.
The musical "Anna Karenina" is one of the earliest Russian musicals adapted into a Chinese version. Musical is not only an art form, but also a carrier of culture, which can reflect the spiritual outlook of a country and an era. The drama has toured around 30 times in major cities in China and is loved by audiences for its profound emotions and beautiful melody.
Several famous Russian artists attended the sharing event together: Alexei Pavinov, the soloist of the musical "Anna Karenina"; Anfisha Kirilina, a solo singer at the Stavropol Territory Opera House; Yaroslava Prokofieva, a Russian actress and many famous musical soloists; Yulia Parker, an actress at the Moscow Stas Naming Music and Drama Theater. The actors passionately showcased the exciting scenes from this famous musical and performed multiple songs with different styles. The outstanding lyricism of the music, stunning ethereal sound, and unparalleled performance skills of the performers were highly recognized by the guests throughout the evening.
The successful holding of the Anna Karenina themed sharing event has played a positive role in promoting cultural exchange between China and the West.
