On the afternoon of January 24th, President Xi Jinping held talks with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who was on a state visit to China, at the Great Hall of the People. The two heads of state announced that China and Uzbekistan have decided to develop an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era, and to promote the construction of a community with a shared future between China and Uzbekistan from a higher starting point.

President Xi Jinping pointed out that 32 years ago, Uzbekistan took the lead in establishing diplomatic relations with China among Central Asian countries. The two peoples inherited the spirit of the Silk Road, and the friendship between China and Uzbekistan was deeply rooted and thriving. Especially in the past seven years, we have jointly led the cooperation between the two countries in various fields to show a thriving and good situation. Building a more meaningful and dynamic relationship between China and Uzbekistan is the common aspiration of the two peoples. The two sides should take the development of all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era as an opportunity, build the foundation of a community of shared future between China and Uzbekistan with high-level political mutual trust, and help China and Uzbekistan advance their respective modernization undertakings with high-quality joint construction of the "Belt and Road".

President Xi Jinping emphasized that China and Uzbekistan have good relations, but fortunately, both sides have always treated each other with sincerity and exchanged trust. Faced with the current complex international situation, both sides need to be more resolute in mutual support. China firmly supports Uzbekistan in safeguarding national sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, and firmly supports Uzbekistan's independent choice of development path. Both sides should make good use of platforms such as the intergovernmental cooperation committee, strengthen strategic communication, and comprehensively deepen strategic mutual trust. China and Uzbekistan share similar development goals and ideas. The two sides can actively dock with China's support for the eight high-quality initiatives to jointly build the "Belt and Road", tap the potential of traditional cooperation, implement the medium and long-term cooperation plan for trade and investment, introduce more investment and trade facilitation measures, expand cooperation in infrastructure, agricultural high-tech park construction, etc. China is willing to import more high-quality products from Uzbekistan. Both sides should start the construction of the China Kyrgyzstan Uzbekistan railway project as soon as possible, promote "hard connectivity" and "soft connectivity" simultaneously, build a three-dimensional interconnection network, and help Uzbekistan transform from a "land locked country" to a "land linked country".China is willing to expand cooperation with Uzbekistan in the entire new energy vehicle industry chain, carry out cooperation in major projects such as photovoltaics, wind power, and hydropower, support Uzbekistan's green economy development strategy, and promote sustainable development. Both sides should actively engage in poverty reduction cooperation, expand and deepen local cooperation, and create more projects that benefit the people. Deepen cultural exchanges, continue to hold cultural days and art festivals with each other, accelerate the establishment of cultural centers with each other, expand cooperation in Chinese language teaching, and support the strengthening of youth exchanges. China is willing to provide more government scholarships for Uzbek youth to study in China. China is willing to strengthen coordination and cooperation with Uzbekistan, promote unity and cooperation among all parties, jointly safeguard the correct development direction of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, earnestly implement the results of the China-Central Asia Xi'an Summit, optimise and strengthen the China-Central Asia mechanism, promote global and regional governance, and promote the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated that choosing China for my first visit this year is of great symbolic significance. Uzbekistan and the Chinese people have a millennium old tradition of friendship, and the relationship between the two countries maintains a high level of development. Every time I visit China, I admire the brilliant achievements of China's reform and development. Thanks to President Xi Jinping's wise leadership, China has become a world power in many aspects such as economic development and innovation capabilities. We believe that China will make new and greater achievements in realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and the Chinese Dream. Uzbekistan is willing to learn from and draw on China's successful development experience, become a fellow traveler on the path of modernization, and benefit the people of both countries. The relationship between Uzbekistan and China is based on a high degree of political mutual trust, mutual respect, and mutual assistance. I fully agree with President Xi Jinping on the further development of bilateral relations. I am pleased to jointly announce with President Xi Jinping that Uzbekistan China relations will be upgraded to an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership for the new era. I look forward to taking my visit as an important opportunity to further consolidate and deepen mutual trust, expand all-round cooperation, build a high-quality "Belt and Road", and promote trade, agriculture, green energy, local more achievements have been made in practical cooperation in various fields such as tourism, and close cultural exchanges have been established. Uzbekistan firmly adheres to the One China principle, firmly opposes external interference in China's internal affairs, and is willing to firmly support China in issues related to China's core interests such as Taiwan, Xinjiang, and human rights. We will work together with China to combat the "three forces" and maintain security and stability in our respective regions. Recently, Uzbekistan and China held rich activities such as local cooperation forums, hundred school cooperation forums, tourism promotion, Uzbekistan Culture Day, and poverty reduction forums. Many of these events were held for the first time in Uzbekistan's history, fully demonstrating the friendly friendship between the two peoples and the fruitful achievements and enormous potential of Uzbekistan China relations. Uzbekistan firmly supports the series of global cooperation initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping and is willing to actively implement and promote them with China. The China-Central Asia Summit in Xi'an last May is of historic significance for strengthening regional connectivity, development and prosperity. Uzbekistan is ready to work closely with China to complete the establishment of the china-central Asia Mechanism Secretariat as soon as possible, we will promote the development of the china-central Asia mechanism, and continue to strengthen communication and cooperation within multilateral frameworks such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. I am full of confidence in the future of Uzbekistan-China relations.
