On the afternoon of November 22nd, President Xi Jinping met with Chairman of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. 

President Xi Jinping pointed out that China and Russia are each other's largest neighbors, both permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, and share broad common interests. This year, I have had two face-to-face and in-depth exchanges with President Putin, and have reached many new consensus on deepening comprehensive strategic cooperation between China and Russia and practical cooperation in various fields. Next year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia. China is willing to work with Russia to continuously deepen the bilateral relationship of permanent good-neighborly friendship, comprehensive strategic cooperation, and mutually beneficial cooperation, injecting new impetus into the development and revitalization of the two countries, and providing more stability for world prosperity and stability.

President Xi Jinping emphasized that strengthening cooperation between legislative bodies plays an important role in ensuring the stability and development of China Russia relations. It is hoped that the Russian State Duma and the National People's Congress of China will strengthen the exchange of legislative experience, give full play to the role of the special committees and friendly groups of legislators in the legislative bodies of the two countries, provide more complete legal support for bilateral cooperation, ensure the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" initiative and the Eurasian Economic Union, and deepen communication and cooperation on multilateral platforms such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, BRICS and the G20.

Volodin stated that under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Putin, Russia China relations have reached the best level in history. The various parties in the Russian State Duma have a high degree of consensus in supporting the development of friendly relations with China. The Russian side firmly adheres to the One China policy and firmly supports China in safeguarding national sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Russian side is willing to strengthen legislative bodies and inter party exchanges and cooperation with China, actively implement the important consensus of the two heads of state, deepen people's friendship and mutual trust, provide strong legal guarantees for the sustainable development of the comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation between Russia and China in the new era, and make contributions to the development of bilateral relations.
