On the afternoon of October 17, President Xi Jinping held talks in the Great Hall of the People with Indonesian President Joko, who was in China to attend the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation and pay a state visit.

President Xi Jinping pointed out that Indonesia is the first place where I proposed to jointly build the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road". In the past 10 years, China and Indonesia have adhered to the principle of jointly building and sharing, complementing each other's advantages, promoting development, bringing great benefits to the two peoples, and becoming an important model for the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" international cooperation. China is willing to continue to support each other with Indonesia on the path of modernization and national rejuvenation, leading the long-term and stable development of bilateral relations through the joint construction of a community with a shared future between China and Indonesia, providing greater assistance for each other's development and revitalization, and injecting inexhaustible impetus into international and regional peace and prosperity.

President Xi Jinping emphasized that China is willing to continue to view and develop bilateral relations with Indonesia from a strategic and long-term perspective, make good use of existing mechanisms to deepen comprehensive strategic cooperation, increase mutual support on issues related to each other's core interests and major concerns, and work together to take a modernization path that is in line with their respective national conditions. Ya'an Wanzhou High speed Railway is the "golden signboard" of China Indonesia cooperation in the "the Belt and Road". China is willing to sum up successful experience with Indonesia, do a good job in follow-up high-quality operation, and cultivate the Ya'an Wanzhou High speed Railway Economic Belt. Both sides need to deepen the integration of industrial and supply chains, and work together to promote the construction of the "Regional Comprehensive Economic Corridor" and the "Two Countries, Two Parks". China supports the participation of relevant local governments and enterprises in the development and construction of major projects such as the New Capital of Indonesia and the North Kalimantan Industrial Park. It is willing to continue to increase imports of high-quality agricultural and fishing products from Indonesia, expand and strengthen cooperation in emerging industries such as the digital economy, photovoltaics, and new energy vehicles, and actively carry out exchanges and cooperation in fields such as grain and agricultural technology, poverty alleviation, medicine and health, as well as education, culture, tourism, and youth. Both sides should closely collaborate, maintain the central position of ASEAN, promote open regionalism, demonstrate the responsibility of major developing countries, work together to promote the transformation of the global governance system, and maintain international fairness and justice.

President Joko stated that after my meeting with President Xi Jinping in Chengdu more than two months ago, the cooperation between the two countries has made positive progress. The Yawan high-speed railway has been completed as scheduled this month and will officially open for operation.   Indonesia regards China as an important strategic partner for national economic development and construction, and looks forward to further strengthening communication and cooperation with China, enhancing mutual trust, and developing closer relations. This not only benefits the people of both countries, but also contributes to promoting regional peace and prosperity. Indonesia is willing to work with China to jointly build the "the Belt and Road" in high quality, and welcomes more Chinese enterprises to participate in the construction of Indonesia's new capital and North Kalimantan Industrial Park, and accelerate the promotion of major projects such as the "Regional Comprehensive Economic Corridor" and "Two Countries, Two Parks". We hope to further expand the export of agricultural products to China and strengthen cooperation in fields such as electric vehicles, finance, and energy security.

After the talks, the two heads of state jointly unveiled the official opening and operation of Ya'an Wanzhou High speed Railway, and witnessed the signing of a number of bilateral cooperation documents on the establishment of a coordination mechanism for cooperation in the joint construction of the "Belt and Road", the implementation of global development initiatives, rural development and poverty reduction, sustainable development, inspection and quarantine and other fields.

Both sides will issue a joint statement on deepening comprehensive strategic cooperation between the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Indonesia.

Prior to the talks, President Xi Jinping held a welcome ceremony for President Joko in the North Hall of the Great Hall of the People, accompanying him to review the Chinese People's Liberation Army honor guard and watch the parade.

Cai Qi and Wang Yi participated in the above activities.
