The Founding of the People's Republic of China

Today, we gather together to celebrate the 74th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Over the past 74 years, China has gone from poverty to a well-off society in an all-round way, and embarked on a new journey to comprehensively promote the building of a strong country and national rejuvenation with Chinese path to modernization. This is a great achievement made by the CPC in uniting and leading the people of all ethnic groups in their hard struggle. Here, on behalf of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council, I would like to pay high tribute to the people of all ethnic groups in the country, to the commanders and soldiers of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and the People's Armed Police Force, and to all democratic parties and individuals without party affiliation! Sincere greetings to compatriots in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Macao Special Administrative Region, Taiwan, and overseas Chinese! This year marks the beginning of implementing the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. We coordinated the prevention and control of the COVID-19 and economic and social development, coordinated development and security, actively promoted sustained economic recovery, orderly pushed forward the reform of the Party and state institutions, effectively responded to local floods, actively promoted opening up, scientific and technological innovation, green development, and firmly protected national sovereignty, security, and development interests. The overall economic recovery was good, high-quality development was solid, and grain production was expected to harvest, The people's lives continue to improve, and the overall social situation remains stable. Chinese athletes have achieved great success in the Chengdu Universiade and Hangzhou Asian Games. These achievements are hard won and inspiring.

At present, the century long changes in the world are accelerating and the international environment is undergoing profound changes. We still face many risks and challenges on our way forward. We need to focus on promoting high-quality development, fully, accurately, and comprehensively implement the new development concept, accelerate the construction of a new development pattern, focus on increasing macroeconomic regulation, expand effective domestic demand, stimulate the vitality of business entities, continuously promote the continuous improvement of economic operation, internal driving force, and social expectations, effectively prevent and resolve major risks, and strive to achieve the annual economic and social development goals.

We should focus on promoting high-level opening up, continue to comprehensively deepen reform, steadily expand the institutional opening of rules, regulations, management, standards and other systems, promote the high-quality development of the "the Belt and Road", smooth the domestic and international dual cycle, and make economic development more resilient and dynamic.

We need to focus on meeting the growing needs of the people for a better life, increase efforts to ensure people's livelihoods, focus on expanding employment, solve the urgent needs and anxieties of the people, strengthen support for disadvantaged groups, consolidate and expand the achievements of poverty alleviation, comprehensively promote rural revitalization, solidly promote common prosperity, and continuously enhance the people's sense of gain, happiness, and security.

We must continue to comprehensively, accurately, and steadfastly implement the "one country, two systems" policy, implement the principles of "patriots governing Hong Kong" and "patriots governing Macao", support Hong Kong and Macao in developing their economy and improving people's livelihoods, leverage our own characteristics and advantages, actively participate in the construction of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, and maintain long-term prosperity and stability of Hong Kong and Macao!

We must adhere to the One China principle and the 1992 Consensus, promote the peaceful development of cross-strait relations, deepen cross-strait integration and development, safeguard the fundamental interests of the Chinese nation, and enhance the well-being of compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. Realizing complete reunification of the motherland is the aspiration of the people, the trend of the times, and a historical necessity that no force can stop.

We must adhere to peaceful development, firmly adhere to the open strategy of mutual benefit and win-win situation, uphold international fairness and justice, practice true multilateralism, promote the implementation of the Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative, and Global Civilization Initiative, promote the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind, work together with people of all countries to address various global challenges, and create a better future for humanity!
