Project content: Cornus officinalis is the backbone medicine with the largest dosage of 40 kinds in China. Its main effect is to nourish the liver and kidney, and enhance immunity. Foping County is one of the three producing areas of cornus officinalis in China and the "hometown of cornus officinalis in China". The cornus officinalis produced in Foping County is famous for its "big fruit and thick flesh, red and oily color, and high content of medicinal active ingredients". The county has a planting area of 100000 mu of cornus officinalis, with an annual output of 1000 tons of cornus officinalis meat. In 2018, Foping Cornus officinalis was approved by the National Health and Family Planning Commission for dual-use substances. In February 2022, Shaanxi Provincial Health Commission and Shaanxi Provincial Market Supervision Bureau approved Foping County as a pilot county for the management of cornus officinalis both as food and as traditional Chinese medicine, marking that the production of cornus officinalis from the same source of food and medicine in Foping County has entered a substantive stage. The processing and development of cornus officinalis products has broad prospects. It is planned to introduce enterprises to invest in Foping cornus health wine, drink pieces, food R&D and production of functional drinks.
