China and the Philippines face each other across the sea, separated by a strip of water. As early as more than 1,000 years ago, they had "boats and ships one after another, business envoys handed over". More than 600 years ago, Chinese navigator Zheng He made seven voyages and visited Manila Bay, Visaya, Sulu and other places many times to spread friendship and cooperation. King Sulu embarked on the road of friendship to China with the best wishes of the Filipino people, leaving a well-known story.

As a neighboring country of the Philippines, China has a vast territory and a huge market. In recent years, China's investment in the Philippines has continued to increase, and the two countries have carried out a series of cooperation in the cultural, tourism, and service industries. China has also become the Philippines' largest trading partner, the largest export market, the largest source of imports, and the second largest source of tourists.

The "country of a thousand islands" Philippines has a unique geographical location and is a natural partner for the joint construction of the "Belt and Road". The leaders of China and the Philippines have repeatedly expressed their desire to increase the alignment of their development strategies. The enthusiasm for private investment between China and the Philippines is high, cultural groups have frequent exchanges, more and more Philippine fruits are placed on the Chinese people's table, and more and more Philippine attractions are included in the itinerary of Chinese tourists.
