Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, March 1 (Reporter Liu Hua) On March 1, President Xi Jinping held talks with President Lukashenko of Belarus, who was visiting China for a state visit, at the Great Hall of the People.

President Xi Jinping pointed out that in Samarkand last September, we jointly announced that we would upgrade the relationship between China and Belarus to an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership, injecting strong impetus into the cooperation between the two countries in various fields. This year is the first year for China to fully implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress. China's high-quality development and modernization process will bring new opportunities to all countries in the world, including Belarus. Facing the international situation full of instability and uncertainty, China is willing to work with Belarus to promote the healthy and stable development of bilateral relations at a high level.

President Xi Jinping stressed that the friendship between China and Belarus is unbreakable, and the two sides should continue to enhance political mutual trust and remain true friends and good partners of each other. China highly appreciates Belarus's firm support for China's legitimate position on issues related to Taiwan, Xinjiang, Hong Kong and human rights. The two sides should firmly support each other's choice of development path, support each other in safeguarding their core interests, oppose external interference in their internal affairs, and safeguard the sovereignty and political security of the two countries. We should give full play to the role of the Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee between the two countries, expand economic and trade cooperation, build a China Belarus industrial park, and promote connectivity construction cooperation such as China EU regular trains, with the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" as the main line. We should deepen medical and health cooperation, expand local cooperation, and strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges, so as to make the friendship between China and Belarus take root.

President Xi Jinping pointed out that the world is facing major changes that have not occurred in a century, and there is a long way to go to maintain world peace and development. China and Belarus are the common defenders of international fairness and justice. China appreciates Belarus's support for the Global Development Initiative and the Global Security Initiative, and is willing to strengthen coordination and cooperation with Belarus in the United Nations and other multilateral platforms to jointly address global challenges and build a community with a shared future for mankind.

President Lukashenko once again warmly congratulated on the victory of the 20th CPC National Congress and said that President Xi Jinping was deeply respected by the Chinese people and enjoyed high prestige in the world. I deeply admire him. I firmly believe that under the strong leadership of President Xi Jinping, China will continue to make new and brilliant achievements. The heart of the Belarusian people has always been linked with the Chinese people and will stand firmly with China at all times. After the talks, the two heads of state jointly signed the Joint Statement of the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Belarus on further developing the all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries in the new era, and witnessed the signing of a number of bilateral cooperation documents in the fields of economy and trade, industry, agriculture, customs, science and technology, health, tourism, sports, local and other fields.

When President Lukashenko arrived, 21 salutes were fired in the Tiananmen Square, and the salute troops lined up to pay tribute. The heads of state of the two countries boarded the reviewing platform and the military orchestra played the national anthems of China and Belarus. President Lukashenko, accompanied by President Xi Jinping, reviewed the honor guard of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and watched the parade.

After the talks, President Xi Jinping held a welcome banquet for President Lukashenko in the golden hall of the Great Hall of the People.
