President Castro said that the establishment of diplomatic relations with China is a historic choice made by the Honduran government and will be recorded in history. Honduras firmly supports and abides by the one China principle and firmly supports the efforts of the Chinese government to achieve national reunification. Under the strong leadership of President Xi Jinping, China has made great development achievements, which Honduras deeply admires. After the talks, the two heads of state jointly witnessed the signing of a number of bilateral cooperation documents in the areas of jointly building the "the Belt and Road", quality inspection, trade, agriculture, science and technology, culture and education.

When President Castro arrived, the ceremonial soldiers lined up to pay tribute. The heads of state of the two countries boarded the review platform, the military band played the national anthems of China and Honduras , and 21 salutes were fired at Tiananmen Square. President Castro, accompanied by President Xi Jinping, reviewed the People's Liberation Army Guard of honour and watched the parade.

That night, President Xi Jinping held a welcome banquet for President Castro in the Golden Hall of the Great Hall of the People.
