Xi Jinping Meets with President Tokayev of Kazakhstan

Xi'an, May 17th (Reporter Du Shangze, Bai Ziwei) On the afternoon of May 17th, President Xi Jinping held talks in Xi'an with President Tokayev of Kazakhstan, who was attending the China-Central Asia Summit and on a state visit to China.

President Xi Jinping pointed out that China and Kazakhstan are trustworthy good friends, good brothers, and good partners of each other. China is comprehensively promoting the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation with Chinese path to modernization, and Kazakhstan is building a rapidly developing and thriving "New Kazakhstan". Both China and Kazakhstan are in a critical stage of development and revitalization, and China Kazakhstan relations have entered a new "golden thirty years". Both sides should vigorously promote traditional friendship, firmly support each other, closely align development strategies, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, jointly seek development and revitalization, and promote the construction of a community with a shared future between China and Kazakhstan that is friendly for generations, highly trusted, and shares weal and woe.

President Xi Jinping emphasized that an independent, secure, stable, and prosperous Kazakhstan is in line with the common interests of the people of China and Kazakhstan. China firmly supports Kazakhstan in maintaining national independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, and supports Kazakhstan in pursuing a development path that is in line with its own national conditions. Since I proposed to jointly build the "the Belt and Road" initiative 10 years ago, China and Kazakhstan have successfully implemented dozens of important cooperation projects, benefiting the two peoples and promoting common development. Both sides need to expand cooperation in fields such as economy and trade, investment, agriculture, automobile manufacturing, and energy, deepen connectivity, promote land sea intermodal transportation, expand cooperation in new fields such as e-commerce, innovation, and big data, accelerate the implementation of mutual cultural centers and the establishment of Luban workshops, and take the signing of mutual exemption agreements as an opportunity to strengthen cultural and cultural exchanges and cooperation, and deepen the foundation of public opinion. Welcome Kazakhstan to host the Kazakhstan Tourism Year in China in 2024. I believe that the opening of the Consulate General of Kazakhstan in Xi'an will effectively promote local exchanges between the two countries. Both sides also need to strengthen media exchanges and cooperation, and jointly tell the story of China Kazakhstan friendship.

President Xi Jinping pointed out that the China Central Asia mechanism aims to focus on the current needs and future development of various countries, strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation, and contribute to common prosperity. The upcoming China Central Asia Summit is of milestone significance and will push China Central Asia cooperation into a new era. China is willing to work together with Central Asian countries, including Kazakhstan, to discuss and build the China Central Asian mechanism into an important platform for promoting deep cooperation among the six countries.

President Tokayev expressed his pleasure to be invited to Xi'an to attend the China Central Asia Summit and pay a state visit to China. Wishing President Xi Jinping great achievements in leading China and believing that China will have a more brilliant future. I fully agree with President Xi Jinping's evaluation of Kazakhstan China relations and his suggestions for further strengthening cooperation between the two countries. China holds a special and important position in Kazakhstan's foreign policy, and Kazakhstan China relations are based on deep friendship and strong mutual trust, with common goals and tasks. Kazakhstan is willing to work with China to further strengthen the permanent comprehensive strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and China, expand bilateral cooperation in various fields such as trade, tourism, humanities, and local areas, and lay a more solid foundation for Kazakhstan and China to embark on a new "golden thirty years". I am glad that Kazakhstan and China have signed a visa waiver agreement, which will effectively promote bilateral exchanges. Jointly building the "the Belt and Road" is a great initiative, and Kazakhstan will continue to actively participate. In the current complex international situation, President Xi Jinping's proposals for global development, global security, and global civilization initiatives are of great significance. Kazakhstan actively supports them and is willing to strengthen communication and cooperation with China in this regard. Kazakhstan is willing to work with China to fully utilize the China Central Asia mechanism and jointly promote regional security, stability, and development. 

After the talks, the two heads of state signed the Joint Declaration of the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Kazakhstan, jointly witnessing the signing of multiple bilateral cooperation documents in fields such as economy and trade, energy, transportation, agriculture, connectivity, humanities, and local areas.
