President Xi Jinping asked Sanchez to convey his sincere greetings to King Felipe VI. President Xi Jinping pointed out that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Spain. Over the past half century, China and the Spain have adhered to mutual respect, exchanges and dialogue, actively carried out mutually beneficial cooperation, and established and developed a comprehensive strategic partnership. China is committed to comprehensively promoting Chinese path to modernization with high-quality development, and will provide wider market space and more cooperation opportunities for countries around the world, including Spain. China is willing to work with Spain to take the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations as a new starting point and promote mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries to deepen and take shape.

President Xi Jinping stressed that the two sides should adhere to the strategic and long-term perspective of planning bilateral relations, strengthen the fundamental understanding of mutually beneficial cooperation between China and the Spain, support each other on issues related to their respective sovereignty, security, development, and other core interests, adhere to the general direction of friendship, mutual trust, and cooperation, and create a strategic and determined bilateral relationship. The two sides should strengthen the docking of development strategies and deeply tap the potential of cooperation. China is willing to import more high-quality Spanish goods and hopes that Spain will provide a fair and just business environment for Chinese enterprises. Both China and Spain are ancient civilizations and cultural powers with world influence. The two sides should do a good job in the activities of the Year of Chinese and Spanish Culture and Tourism, promote dialogue and exchanges among world civilizations, closely communicate within multilateral frameworks such as the United Nations and the Group of Twenty, and make positive contributions to addressing the common challenges of humanity.

President Xi Jinping emphasized that the development of good Sino European relations requires the European side to adhere to strategic autonomy. Both China and the EU adhere to multilateralism, uphold the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter, and advocate the peaceful settlement of international disputes. Both sides should be collaborators on the path of modernization and good friends to jointly address global challenges. China is willing to carry out comprehensive dialogue and cooperation with the European side in the spirit of independence, mutual respect, seeking common ground while reserving differences, and mutual benefit and win-win results, and take full responsibility for world peace and development. It is hoped that Spain will play a positive role in promoting dialogue and cooperation between China and the EU.

Sanchez conveyed the cordial greetings of King Felipe VI to President Xi Jinping. Sanchez expressed his pleasure to visit China on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Spain and China this year. The current world is full of various uncertainties, and only through cooperation can we more effectively address various challenges and promote world peace and development. Spain is willing to maintain frank communication and dialogue with China, continuously enhance mutual trust, deepen bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation, especially in the fields of electric vehicles, green energy, digital economy, etc., strengthen communication and coordination on international and regional issues such as climate change, and work together to promote the further development of Spain and China relations. Spain will take over the rotating presidency of the EU in the second half of this year, and the Spain will be committed to promoting dialogue and cooperation between the EU and China.

Sanchez introduced Spain's relevant views, expressing Spain's positive evaluation of China's position paper on the political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis, and appreciating China's constructive role in the political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis.
