The meeting focused on sustainable trade and investment. President Xi Jinping pointed out that free and open trade and investment are the purposes and principles of APEC and an important pillar of achieving the Putrajaya Vision 2040.

We must adhere to true multilateralism and maintain the multilateral trading system. Firmly maintain a rules-based multilateral trading system, maintain the security and stability of the supply chain of the global industrial chain, build an open, fair and non-discriminatory trade and investment environment, and establish a comprehensive and high-level Asia-Pacific Free Trade Area as soon as possible.

We should adhere to inclusiveness and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results. It is necessary to highlight the inclusiveness of development, create a regional economic cooperation framework for equal consultation, joint participation and universal benefits, cultivate an Asia-Pacific market that benefits all parties, so that all parties can achieve common growth in joint development and achieve win-win cooperation in complementary advantages. China has put forward initiatives such as rural revitalization, "specialization" for small and medium-sized enterprises, and inclusive trade and investment, so that development and innovation achievements can benefit more people and help all parties in Asia and the Pacific achieve inclusive and sustainable development.

We should adhere to open regional cooperation and promote Asia-Pacific prosperity. Actively expand opening up and comprehensively improve the level of regional economic cooperation. The meeting issued the “APEC Leaders' Declaration of 2022” and the “Bangkok Targets for a Green Economy in the Biocycle”.
