There is an African proverb: "The river has deep spring water." The friendly exchanges between China and Africa have a long history. Tanzania is China's die-hard friend in Africa and occupies a special place in China's diplomatic history. In the 1950s and 1960s, Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai and other first-generation leaders of New China and the older generation of politicians in Africa jointly opened a new era of China-Africa relations. In 2013, Xi Jinping made his first visit to Africa after assuming the presidency of the country. Tanzania was the first stop, which fully demonstrated that President Xi Jinping attaches great importance to Sino-Tanzanian relations and opened a new chapter in Sino-Tanzanian friendship.
China has a good cooperative relationship with Tanzania and is Tanzania's main trading partner and aid country. In recent years, more Chinese companies have invested in Tanzania, and cultural groups have frequent exchanges.
